Doctor Who Christmas idents confirmed!

The BBC has confirmed that it will be  launching a whole load of new specially-recorded Doctor Who Christmas idents next month, in the run-up to the broadcast of the Tenth Doctor’s finale, The End of Time!

The 5-second idents will feature scenes such as the Doctor digging in the snow, and a reindeer sniffing the TARDIS!

The idents will be shown before many different programmes during the festive season.

The BBFC have also classified a new 30-second trailer for The End of Time.

The End of Time Running times!

The British Board of Film Classification has told use that the running times for both special episodes of the Tenth Doctor’s upcoming regeneration two-parter, The End of Time.

Part one, which will be on Christmas Day, runs for 59 minutes and 42 seconds, while part two, which will air on New Year’s Day, has an official running time of 72 minutes and 47 seconds!

BBFC has also posted some information that the UK DVD release of The Waters of Mars has been rated a 12, while The End of Time has been given a PG certificate.

BARB have today published the finalised viewing figures for The Waters of Mars, confirming that the episode was watched by an official audience of 10.32million, making Doctor Who the 5th most watched programme of the week!

The Tenth Doctor’s penultimate story was inevitably beaten by The X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, however, it achieved an audience of 376,000 on BBC HD – the channel’s highest ever rating to date!

Meanwhile, 0.63million tuned in for the accompanying edition of Confidential, Is There Life On Mars?, on BBC3, with a further 100,000 watching on BBC HD.

This year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, part one of The End of Time, the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration two-parter, is now officially just one month away, which means that the next few weeks will be filled with all kinds of End of Time goodness!

Christmas special set to be ratings smash!

The Telegraph have predicted that the Doctor Who Christmas special, part one of The End of Time, will shine through as the channel’s most watched programme on Christmas Day!

Part one of the Tenth Doctor’s long-awaited regeneration tw0-parter will see the Master reborn on Christmas Eve, and an epic battle stretching from the wastelands of London to the mysterious Immortality Gate will begin, as a terrible shadow falls across the entire Universe.

The story, which is one of the most anticipated in the show’s history, will mark David Tennant’s tenure as the Tenth Doctor. Stick with us for the latest!

The BBC Press Office has today been updated with previews of the upcoming Christmas 2009 highlights, and, naturally, the Tenth Doctor’s long-awaited regeneration two-parter, The End of Time, is high up there on the list!

Part one of The End of Time is due to air on Christmas Day, and it’s thought that part two will follow on New Year’s Day.

Children in Need ratings

11.9million tuned in for the exclusive preview of the Doctor Who Christmas special during last night’s Children in Need telethon, according to initial overnight ratings.

The clip, which aired at 8:15PM, gave the charity bonanza its highest audience of the night, with a whopping 49.5% share of the television audience.

The snippet, taken from part one of The End of Time, was introduced by outgoing Tenth Doctor actor David Tennant himself, who recorded a special pledge video with the help of Pudsey Bear!

The total figure raised by the end of the night was £20,309,747, and every penny of it will go towards helping to change the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children living in the UK.

What an episode! Very griping couldn’t keep my eyes off the screen!

In this episode we saw Sarah Jane and the gang saving the planet once again! As the leading lady, Miss Smith was forced to face the battle of her life in order to save her son, Luke, and the whole of London from the evil clasp of the Blathereen. The world was being destroying by mutating plants….

That was the last Sarah Jane Adventures for this year! :( But hopefully will be back next year with a new series! If you’ve missed any episodes then go to the BBC iplayer.
